This was a post I put up on facebook last year, but after reading
over it again, I figure why not put it up on my blog?!?! So I'm putting
it up!!
I surrender... though I have absolutely NO time
to write this and though I do NOT want to write any new note ever again
(on account of my last note being about the best night of my entire
life), I'm doing it! I'm sticking it to the man! What the heck!!
1.)
I recently met James Morrison- my music idol! He was #1 on my "to meet
list" and never in a million years did I expect this to actually happen!
He is such a humble, amazingly talented, "wicked"ly British guy who I
love more now than I ever did before! I want to have his babies, lol
jkjk! I listen to his songs all the time, harmonize with them, and dream
of the day when I can meet him again! I guess I'm obsessed, but in a
good, non-creepy, non-stalkerish sort of way, lol.
2.) I
want to learn how to play the guitar so badly so that when and if I
meet James Morrison again, I can jam, sing, and write songs with him!
That would be a cherry on top of the already amazing treat I had of
meeting him!
3.) The whole "learning to play the
guitar" thing feeds right into this next random fact about me. I LOVE to
sing! I belt it out in the shower and whenever and wherever I can, lol!
I am currently studying to become a teacher, but deep down, I dream of
being a singer! It probably sounds lame, but I just have such a love for
music! I think James Morrison inspired me more to really pursue my
dreams after I went to one of his concerts! The lyrics to his songs
(which he wrote) are so amazing. They convey such strong emotions and
make me want to write songs of my own!
4.) In the
summer after my Senior year, I almost got arrested. IT'S NOT WHAT YOU
THINK! I invited some good friends over to my house to hang out one
summer day and we decided around 10:30 or 11 p.m. that we would go to a
park near my development. When we went there, we played hide and seek
and just acted like kids- doing nothing illegal or criminal, lol.
Anyway, we didn't realize that the park had specific hours and us being
there violated rules. Apparently while we were swinging and playing, a
cop came and checked out the situation to see if we were doing anything
wrong. He shined his flashlight on us and when we saw it, we realized he
had been there for a pretty long time. We just kind of did our best not
to freak out. He told us we weren't supposed to be there and basically
let us off with a warning, lol. It was an experience I will always
remember!
5.) I make one HECK of a Granny Cake! It's so
delicious and anyone I know who has eaten it would agree with me when I
say that it's the shiz!
6.) I love to play "The Water
Game." I made this game up when I was a little kid, who wanted to stay
up past her bedtime. Basically, my sister and I went to the bathroom,
where we filled our mouths with as much water as they could fit, and
then we proceeded to go into our room and try to make the other person
laugh so that they would spit out the water! It is such a simple game,
but I have seriously had some amazing times playing it with friends!
They have made me laugh so hard when I've played it that I literally
have felt like I was choking! Good times, good times!
7.) I love the movie "Gidget." It is definitely one of my favs!
8.)
I love doing improv! I took a class years ago, where I was able to
learn how to do different improv games. It made me more witty and also
provided me with awesome games to play with my fam.! My bro. Zach and I
have had some great times making up songs and doing the rap game! Zach,
you crack me up!
9.) I have the coolest family in the
WORLD!!! There are three girls and three boys in it and we are all two
to two and a half years apart so there isn't a huge age gap dividing us.
I love that I can be myself around these people! They are the craziest,
funniest, kindest people you'd ever meet in your life! If you don't
come away from my house laughing and/or thinking that my family is crazy
awesome, you're whack! Haha!
10.) I love the
humanities! I took a class at BYU from a teacher named Diane Cales, who
inspired me so much in this topic! She helped me to realize how
important, significant, and cool artwork, music, and literature are in
history. I will never forget the spirit that I felt in her class! She
was one of those professors that you never forget for the rest of your
life!
11.) I love the color pink!
12.)
I used to be blond, but just recently dyed my hair to brown! That's
right, I'm a brunette again! The last time I was a brunette was in my
Freshmen year of high school I think! It's my natural color and though I
was hesitant to do it at first, going back to my roots has been an
AWESOME change!
13.) I love English. I have thought a
lot lately about maybe going into secondary education so that I can
teach it to middle school or maybe even high school students. I have
always loved grammar, which may sound so dorky, but it's just one of
those things that has always come naturally to me. I also love
literature and vocabulary so I think that English could be my thing in
the future! Who knows?!?!
14.) My religion is so
important to me. It makes me who I am. I love to serve people and love
the feeling that comes from making a difference in someone's life. I
know this is the reason I have chosen to go into the teaching
profession. Perhaps the quote on my wonderful teaching poster I got at a
lecture says it best, "I think it must be apparent to every thinking
mind that the noblest of all professions is that of teaching and that
upon the effectiveness of that teaching hangs the destiny of nations."
-David O. McKay
15.) I LOVE BOWS! I wear one in my hair everyday! I try to always match my outfit!
16.) Polka dots complete me! End of story!
17.)
I break out into movie quotes often! I was raised in a family that
randomly quotes them all the time and tries to get other family members
to guess what movie they came from! It's a talent that I'm kind of proud
of, I'm not gonna lie, haha!
18.) My sister tells me
that when I am driving and crazy Utah drivers do stupid stuff on the
road (sorry to any Utah friends of mine), I always put my hand up to the
horn, but I rarely ever push it! I guess I just never want to be
mean... it's not me! I need to work on pressing the horn, lol! Maybe
practice will make perfect, lol!
19.) I love Jane Fonda
Aerobics! There is something so special about her workouts! Perhaps the
big, teased hair, the crazy spandex outfits, or the motivational
phrases make them the amazing workouts I love to do so much! Haha! Jane
keeps me sane- brilliant phrase, I know!
20.) Midgets make me happy!
21.)
I laugh a lot... I just love to be an optimistic, happy, fun person! I
giggle when I'm nervous! I just can't help it- it slips out!
22.)
I have a hard time holding back tears when I hear a sad story or watch a
sad movie. I am just not good at holding that back. I don't know how
other people can hear or watch such moving things without losing it. I
wish I was more like them, but what can you do?!?!
23.)
I love big hair! I love the voluminous locks, I'm not gonna lie, lol! I
really love trying new styles with my hair- curling, straightening,
scrunching, waving, etc.- all these things have been so fun to do! I
love variety!
24.) I love theater! I have enjoyed being
in musicals, plays, and doing monologues! I feel the butterflies like
there is no tomorrow when I am on stage, but at the same time, feel in
my comfort zone! I love being someone else! In my Junior year of high
school, I took a theater class in which I did an Irish monologue. To
this day, that memory sticks out in my mind as being so awesome! I'll
never forget how much I enjoyed it!
25) Hmmm, wow, this
is the last one! I have to make it good! So let's see, what can I say?
Me in a nutshell: smiley, giggly, hard-working, big dreamer, hopeful,
random, dorky, klutzy, spontaneous, social, musical, etc.! I'm just me! I
love life and feel so blessed and privileged to have the opportunities I
do! My life motto: "Seize the day!" I believe in the words from the
movie "Tuck Everlasting," which so eloquently advise, "Don't fear
death... fear the unlived life." That quote has made me want to live my
life to the FULLEST!
