"Nothing'S GonnA StoP Us NoW" (11/26/11)

Lately, I have been enjoying the sounds of Helen Reddy (see music video above). She is an Australian musician who became popular during the 70s. She was in the movie, "Pete's Dragon," where she sang the memorable, classic song, "Candle on the Water." There is something so pure about this woman's voice and I just love listening to it. I go through musical phases in my life. There are times that I cannot get enough of an artist or a particular song. Since I was raised on 70s, 80s, Motown, etc., I find myself feeling "at home" anytime and every time I listen to any songs that fit into these genres. It's amazing to me how simply hearing a song can evoke such powerful, strong emotions within me. Memories are remembered, happy feelings rekindled, and even sad feelings felt once again when I listen to them.

Here are some of the songs that are a staple to my musical collection. Hearing them can make me happy no matter what kind of day I'm having. Enjoy!
