Here's a recap of the things I did this week and the weekend prior to it:
1.
I
had my own little recording session in my kitchen when no one was home
on Saturday. Please excuse my grungy self- I was kickin' it in my
jammies and getting ready to shower it up afterwards. Skip to 38 seconds
in, lol. I had some difficulties getting the music to work.
2.
I
finally watched my favorite movie! Every time I have attempted to watch
it to date this year, I have fallen asleep! I have conked out during so
many movies and I am so glad that the scenario described heretofore did
not happen on the Sunday evening leading up to my spring break. I
watched this movie from start to finish and enjoyed every last bit of
it! It will always be one of my favs.!
3.
I slept like a BABY this week! I caught up on the ZZZZs I had been missing for months... heck, the whole year even!
On
Tuesday, I went to the home of the person who mentored me during my
student teaching experience. She is retiring and gave me a WHOLE bunch
of resources for 1st grade! I seriously was like a little kid at a candy
store- I became SO incredibly excited for all of the possibilities I
would have for next school year as a result of the heaping spoonful of
generosity that was being tossed my way by my dear mentor. I will
forever be indebted to her for being so willing to give me the work she
had accumulated in her many years of teaching. Even the things that she
sold to me were incredibly cheap and definitely a bargain.
5.
After
my yard sale extravaganza, I went to Thai Village in Provo with Zachie
boy and enjoyed their tasty Masaman curry. This food is so good that
Zach and I ended up going back to the restaurant on Wednesday, lol.
6.
Zach and I saw this masterpiece. 'Nuff said.
7.
Zachie
boy and I ended our Tuesday night with a trip to Iggy's! I had never
been there before and I LOVED it! It was fun to sit in booths that were
made to feel/look like couches. Also, the food they served there was
BOMB! Zach recommended the calzone and I am glad I followed his advice!
It was delish!
8.
On
Thursday, I went to Layton and explored Tanto and Reggie's home turf! I
saw Emma's apartment, which is so cute and cozy. We ate at a delicious,
renowned Italian restaurant. We shopped it up at Marshalls, where I got
a super cute dress. I was given a grand tour of Ogden from the Mexican
Horserace gang (Poncho missed it unfortunately due to finals and the
studying that comes before taking them) and experienced all of its
goodness (including the delectable ice cream from Farr's). I had a blast
telling/hearing scary stories in Emma's car, which stories did make me
scared to get into my car at the conclusion of the night's fun, I'm not
gonna lie. The hours pass like minutes when I am with the people I love
most in the world! Emma and Hannah are friends that I am so grateful to
have and when I am with them, I feel true happiness. I have a blast
simply talking with them and being in their company. Thanks for an
awesome, fun-filled night my friends! Here's to plenty more to come,
especially in this upcoming summer!
9.
I
spent most of my Friday getting this little baby inspected in a safety
& emissions test. Did she pass? With flying colors! In addition
to getting it inspected, I got the back right brake light changed
because it had been flickering on and off for quite some time like the
little firefly in "The Princess and the Frog" when it got hurt. Was
there any additional work done on my car? I'm sorry to say that there
was. On the way home from Emma's place Thursday night, when I was close
to my house, there was construction that was very unclear on I-15. This
construction was seen in the form of the cylinder cones blocking off the
right lane and forcing cars to travel solely in the left lane. When I
was moved to the left lane, I realized that I needed to get off at the
exit which leads to my place, which exit is in the right lane. No signs
or any directions were up to show what exactly was being done in the
right lane; there was nothing in sight. Here's where my story reflects
the curse I have with cars. I was nervous to go to the right lane and
when I did, I saw what looked like tar or wet concrete in front of me on
the road ahead. It was hard to tell what it was, as it was past 2 in
the morning and dark outside when I drove near it. As a result of not
knowing what it was, I got over into the left lane fairly fast. When I
did so, I slightly bumped a cone and then the unthinkable happened! The
glass mirror that is located in the side mirror unit of my car came out!
It flew off of my car and landed somewhere in nowhere land (aka I-15
nothingness) never to be seen again. As a result of this joyous event
taking place, I had to get a new mirror today, which cost more moolah.
It had to be done, what can I say?!?! At least it made for a good story
right, or a humorous, cursed one for that matter.
10.
I
received both of these GORGEOUS dresses this week! Ever since I saw
Gidget, I have wanted to have a dress just like her and now I DO!!! I
have two to be exact!!!! They come from the UK and are the epitome of
cuteness! I can't wait to wear these little slices of Heaven during the
summer months!
11.
The
perfectionist in me is saying, "No, you can't possibly end this post at
an odd number!" Yet, this song seems like the perfect way to end it.
This week, I have really gotten into this song and I kind of LURVE it!
Though spring break has not yet breathed its last breath, it is coming over the home stretch. Why write a post now? Why not wait until the whole experience is over?
In response to said questions I proudly affirm, "Why not?" Why not
leave space open to have adventures, and participate in unplanned,
spontaneous shenanigans during the remainder of this epic spring
break?!?!
That, my friends, is exactly what I'm planning and/or not planning to do. ;-)
