NeW Year'S GoaLS!! (12/26/11)

This year, I am going to set some attainable, realistic goals, which I plan to achieve and check off of life's lovely checklist. Here is a list of the goals I hope to accomplish in 2012:

1. Stop saying "sorry" all the time. I say this word WAY too much, especially when I haven't done anything. Example (True story- it happens way too much): Someone bumps into me at the store and I say sorry to that person. What the heck?! I have got it all wrong! I have got to stop saying this, as I think it makes me seem weak or like I can be walked over. Sorry should be said when fights happen and I'm seeking forgiveness from whoever I have wronged. In 2012, I will try to ensure that I only say this word in the instances I mentioned above.
2. Lose weight/work out. I don't care about numbers- I'm not aiming for a specific goal weight in this upcoming year. I just want to be my healthiest, happiest self. I plan to exercise and eat a balanced diet, staying away from fast food as much as I can. I judge my weight loss by how my clothes fit and how I feel/look. I really want to be able to drop a few clothes sizes in 2012!
3. Learn how to play the guitar.
4. Sing in open mic. clubs/events. Go to a recording studio and make some masterpieces.
5. Go somewhere amazing- this could be out of the country or somewhere new and exciting in the good old U.S. Wherever I go, I just want to have an incredible adventure this upcoming summer. I'm thinking a Leap Year experience is in the cards, haha!
6. Get rid of old clothes/things I do not need. I have such a hard time doing that sometimes, but I think that doing so has a sort of freeing effect on a person. I may even implement the policy I've seen several of my friends use- for every item of clothing they purchase, they have to get rid of clothing items they have. I plan to try to get rid of 3 items each time I buy new clothes.
7. Do service at least once a month.
8. Date more often.
9. Save money/make a budget that I stick to.
10. Read the Book of Mormon.
11. Take a road trip.
12. Read five new books.

By 2013, I hope to be able to revisit this blog post, go through each goal I set for myself, and cross out each and every one because I did what I set out to do a year prior!

I'll update this post if I think of any other great goals to set for 2012! Woop woop to the new year!!!
